sugaryumyum:

You wanting to stick your dick in a fat chick doesn’t end our oppression.

There’s a big difference between not needing personal validation to exist and needing strength in numbers to overcome oppression. The above statement may be true but the need to iterate it is pissy. If someone wants to be part of your movement, and you turn them away, you’re more interested in being oppressed than overcoming it. Really, the civil rights movement couldn’t afford to be holier-than-thou about cherry-picking supporters. They were scared to death.
Should you have to make outsiders recognize your right to exist equivalent to them? No.Do you have to in an imperfect world where people have to campaign for human rights and health care? The first rule of getting shit done in politics is taking what you can get. Then you figure out how to make more of it. Wanting to make less of it is one way to tell who wants to have a credibility contest and who wants to change every single mind in society (that’s right, even the people who gross you out!).Guys who like to “stick their dick in a fat chick” aren’t your fucking enemy because if the world was made in our image we wouldn’t be having this conversation.Let me know when you’re ready to work together.Sincerely,a non-oppressed person who wants to end your oppression.
